Gulf Latin is an independent bilingual digital newspaper. The beat is the working relationship between the Gulf and Latin America, and the world as it looks from that crossing. The paper is published in English and Arabic. A piece exists in a language only when that language version has actually been written.
Essays marked Gulf Latin are written by the Gulf Latin Desk. They are arguments, explainers, and notes on method. They are not a claim that a correspondent was on the scene of a breaking event. Wire briefs are different: a headline, a short excerpt from a public feed, the publisher’s name, the publisher’s time, and a link. The full text stays with that publisher.
The site is a built edition. New wire items appear when the edition is rebuilt and published. There is no newsroom server sitting open and pulling feeds all day. We would rather say that plainly than imply a live wire we do not run.
